I made a decision to dramatically reduce the size of my closet before and after joining the military. Although it was a tough decision, I then realized that doing less is more. Minimalism.
When I was in all of my trainings, I only had one suitcase full of clothes good for the whole year. I came back and decided to purge half of my closet, and only bring what I can on my move to California. I actually enjoyed the freedom of getting rid of old items that I know I will never use again. I continued purging my clothes every week. I had donated a total of 7 black trash bags and sold my high-end valuable pieces. No regrets.
So, now my wardrobe has been down-sized and nothing more, I discovered different ways of wearing basic pieces, mixing and matching staple pieces without having to wear the same outfit every day. And I've been loving clean, basic, effortless get-up lately. After all, options are endless in the world of fashion. Just be yourself and you will always be in fashion.
